Learn how to perform a spectrophotometer calibration with a holmium oxide filter.
Spectrophotometer calibration can be tricky when not done with proper guidance. In this video we go over step by step directions on performing a spectrophotometer calibration using a holmium oxide filter.
A holmium oxide filter is made specifically for wavelength calibrations. In this type of spectrophotometer calibration, you scan a large range of values and see where the peaks are. The peaks tell you in the machine is working properly.
Step 1: Warm up the spectrophotometer.
Step 2. Set your scan range (200-700nm for holmium oxide filter).
Step 3: Perform a baseline scan.
Step 4: Insert the WAV-1 UV/VIS calibration filter.
Step 5: Run the scan.
Step 6: Compare the data from the machine against the data from the Certificate of Calibration.
