Paris Louvre Blockade: Students Stop Museum From Opening as Tourists Wait Outside | Times Now World

Описание: Student protesters blocked the entrance to the Louvre Museum in Paris on Monday, preventing the world-famous attraction from opening to visitors at its scheduled time. Demonstrators from the École du Louvre art school gathered behind metal barriers, playing music, singing and chanting slogans in support of the high school student movement while denouncing what they described as police repression. The protest also reflected concerns about potential budget cuts, staffing reductions and the future of France’s museums. Visitors were left waiting outside the barricaded entrance, with some expressing frustration over the disruption. Phaneendra Alaparta, a tourist from Bangalore visiting with his children, said visitors should have been informed in advance and criticised the decision to block access. Another tourist, Chris Velenik from Pennsylvania, said the protesters’ complaints should be taken seriously despite the inconvenience. Adele, a student at the École du Louvre, said demonstrators feared funding and staffing cuts could threaten the museum’s future. The blockade came amid wider student mobilisation in France over education and police actions.
