13 British TV Actors Who Died in Absolute Poverty

Описание: They were in every living room in Britain, and they died with almost nothing.

The star of the greatest Ealing comedy, telling a fan in a public hospital ward that he'd soon be back in action. A singer who topped a Royal Command Performance above the Beatles, found on a Los Angeles pavement with three dollars to her name. A sitcom favourite who ended his days driving a minicab. And a little girl who sang for the Queen at twelve, and died in a council flat at thirty-five.

From Dennis Price, Adam Faith and Christopher Trace to Danny La Rue, Peter Adamson, Bob Grant and Lena Zavaroni, these are thirteen much-loved British stars and how the money ran out: managers, the taxman, drink, illness, and an industry that moved on. Every story comes from obituaries, court records and the words of the people who knew them. Nobody here is being laughed at.
