I had an awesome time once again with a former student that I used to coach. He absolutely crushed it today on the fly rod!
I was able to manage 5 to the net (and 3 big ones)! Today, lures worked better for me than the fly rod, but I technically landed fish on both!
A slow retrieve with subtle twitches worked best (and they always hit on the pause with lures and rapalas)!
We had to clear ice out of our guides all day long, it was true winter fishing!
