Greenland Rejects U.S. Takeover, Reaffirms Ties With Denmark and NATO

Описание: Greenland’s Prime Minister Jens-Frederik Nielsen has firmly rejected any move to place the Arctic island under U.S. control, saying Greenland will remain part of the Kingdom of Denmark. Speaking alongside Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen in Copenhagen, Nielsen stressed that Greenland is not for sale and reaffirmed its commitment to Denmark, NATO, and the European Union.

The remarks come amid renewed pressure from U.S. President Donald Trump, who has cited security and strategic concerns to justify calls for U.S. control of Greenland. The statement was made ahead of a scheduled meeting between Danish and Greenlandic officials and U.S. Vice President JD Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
