MaxLinear has made an offer to acquire Silicon Motion ($SIMO), but the deal has yet to go through. There's also a more than 60% disconnect between the offer for Silicon Motion and the current stock price, implying market doubt the merger will happen -- but offering the potential for a quick investment gain for shareholders if it does happen.
