Winter brings a rare stillness to Akureyri. With fewer crowds, quiet streets, and untouched nature, it’s the perfect place to experience Iceland in winter at a slower pace.

You may see a blue tinge in some parts of the video. The “Blue Hour” in Iceland is a prolonged winter phenomenon (especially Nov–Feb) occurring before sunrise and after sunset, when the sun is just below the horizon, bathing the landscape in deep blue, soft, and moody tones for 1-2+ hours. Due to high latitude, this "suspended" light lasts much longer than in other regions.
