Описание: Northern National Restoration Group (NNRG) Depot open day event June 29th 2025.
Here is my edited highlights from the open day event, I only rode on the MCW and the cavalcade run as I chatted with bus preservation group members and vehicle owners to catch up with news etc vehicles and restoration.
NNRG create a fantastic event, good atmosphere and facilites for bus enthusiasts to come and enjoy looking at buses, owned by NNRG and visiting guest vehicles in attendance.
It's also nice to see the progress of the buildings restoration and future plans and investment, as well as the memorabilia room.
From entering reception and paying your entrance ticket wrist band fee (and a bit more if you like me) as you know its all going to NNRG funds to be able to allow us to have open days like this, raffle tickets for prizes all helps to raise much needed funds.
A warm welcome as enter and we see familiar faces and smell the food simmering away ahead of us, hoping cornflake cake is on the menu too today.
Its nice to have a bit of banter with the girls in the cafe, and get fed and watered at a reasonable cost with every penny profit going back in the pot to keep the buses safely homed and wheels turning. Sadly no cornflake cake today but lots more savoury and sweet treats to sink your teeth into.
The weather was kind and sun was shining, great for photos and topping up your tan.
The Teesside 500 group had the stall out in the building and a few other traders selling assorted memorabilia and trinkets, a lot of interest at the tables everyone looking for that book or photo or badge for their collection.
Leyland National FTN 710W (4710) was still on its blocks and missing its wheels as its on going overhaul continues, NNRG chairman Craig Smith gave an interesting update / talk about the group and the fleet projects and a bit of back story over 4710 I recorded it and its edited for a future video.
Plenty of new young enthusiasts at the event and cameras / phones so I think it's time to take a step back and let them take over and capture the moment.
