Many PDF band charts can be read okay uson tablets using a foot switch or swiping the screen to move around the chart pages, but some paper sheet music is not really formatted to read easily in tablets, where only one page can be seen at a time. This can be fixed by properly formatting the pages.

To format PDF charts for easy reading on Tablets- need to use software:

Adobe - full version is good - but now is only available as an expensive subscription version. If you have a disk of older version of Adobe Professional - that will work okay

Otherwise use of the the many free online or downloaded software versions of PDF editors .

With his older charts that were formatted to be printed onto paper, there are many times things like a DS al Coda, or a section of background behind a solo, that skips back (or ahead with a coda) a page. Since there’s no reason to save paper with a tablet, charts should be formatted without any backwards page turns, or complex road maps.

Think about it, if your charts are formatted properly, there’s almost no need to turn backwards with the pedal.
