Legalism and Grace stand diametrically opposed to each other. Legalism is the idea of earning salvation through works, while grace is undeserved favor given by God.
Legalism places all emphasis on personal effort instead of relying solely on Christ's finished work on the cross. It leads people to believe that they can earn their way into heaven by following a set of rules or performing good deeds, it ignores the fact that we are saved by grace alone, not by any merit or worthiness in ourselves.
In the video, Jason shares why "Grace" is the radical message and not "Legalism." He also addresses criticism they've received for their focus on grace, and how some people want legalism in their lives.

The gospel cannot be reduced to mere moralism or legalism. To do so would be to miss the point entirely. The good news is that we have been saved by grace through faith, and this is not our doing; it is the gift of God (Ephesians 2:8). We cannot earn our salvation no matter how hard we try.
But why did Jesus have to die such a gruesome death? Couldn't God have just forgiven us without requiring a sacrifice? The answer lies in the nature of sin itself. Sin separates us from God, and because He is holy, nothing impure can enter into His presence. And this separation brings about death both physical and spiritual. The only way to bridge this gap between God and mankind is through the sacrifice of someone who is perfect and blameless. Jesus Christ lived a sinless life and willingly offered himself up as the ultimate sacrifice on the cross. Therefore, there had to be a way for us to be cleansed from sin's stain so that we could stand before Him blameless.
Legalism is a counterfeit gospel. It promises salvation through our own works and deeds, but it only leads to despair and condemnation. Grace, on the other hand, is the message of Christ's finished work on the cross. It declares that we are saved not because of what we have done, but because of what Christ has done for us.
"For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God" (Ephesians 2:8)
