Описание: Subnautica is on of those rare games that somehow manages to allow you to just zone out and glide through, while still being absolutely unsettling at the same time. Let go through the indie darling that proved that early access Unity games can occasionally have spectacular results.

Subnautica is a survival game developed and published by Unknown Worlds Entertainment. It’s set on an alien ocean planet, filled with various different biomes of animals and plant life to explore, with your primary goals being to gather resources and build what you need to survive. It’s a game of contradictions, at times peaceful and beautiful, at others stressfully terrifying. It allows you as the player to take your time and play at your own pace, yet there is always an irresistible urge to progress, to discover new places, to find new resources and blueprints and to build bigger, better equipment. As you explore further out though, you have to dive deeper into more mysterious and unsettling waters. Subnautica does a fantastic job of channelling the uneasiness that most people feel around truly deep ocean, with a soundscape that doesn’t allow you to feel truly comfortable.

However despite it’s attempts to set you on edge, it can also be an almost zen experience to zoom along through the water. This feeling only intensifies when you’re able to start building your own habitat as a personal base. The habitat building is an almost entirely creative endeavour, allowing you to construct and decorate your new home as in whatever way you want. You can add furniture, windows, posters, coffee machines and more, but only if you want to put the effort in.

Finally it’s also one of the few survival/crafting games that actually manages to tell a coherent story as you progress, told through voice logs, data packets and your AI companion. It’s another instance where you can pay almost as much or as little attention to the story as you’d like, it’s all about doing what you as a player wants to do, without being guided along restricted paths.

It’s a fantastic game for anyone to play however they’d like.
