In today’s Gospel, Jesus confronts a generation obsessed with signs and proofs. The religious and political elites demand miracles to justify belief—but Jesus refuses to play their game. He says,
“This generation seeks a sign, but no sign will be given except the sign of Jonah.” (Luke 11:29)
Jonah’s preaching led the people of Nineveh to repentance. Jesus reminds His critics that something greater than Jonah is here—the very presence of the Son of God. Yet hearts remain closed.
This passage challenges us: Do we follow Jesus out of faith, or are we still waiting for proof? Are we listening to God’s word with open hearts, ready to repent and change?
🙏 Lord, help us not to demand signs but to recognize Your presence in Your Word, in our daily lives, and in the quiet workings of Your grace.
