Last year, the technicians and stylists at Alpha-N Performance, based in Rheinbach near the legendary Nürburgring, caused quite a stir with their extensive range of high-quality and spectacular carbon aerodynamic parts for the compact BMW M2 Coupé. After great national and international success, the innovative tuners are now following up with the M3 project vehicle pictured here, the four-door “big brother” of the M2: Alpha-N Performance tailors a designer outfit made of carbon fiber for the BMW M3 sedan.

Even the front of the BMW is bursting with visible fiber fabric! Alpha-N not only designed the characteristic XL kidneys of the M3 in carbon fiber, but also added a horizontal subdivision to the radiator grille, which makes the entire front design appear lighter and more appealing.

The Alpha-N carbon front spoiler, whose raised sides are reminiscent of winglets, spreads out underneath. The partially painted Alpha-N hood is also made entirely of carbon, with generously dimensioned air outlets that not only look powerful, but also optimize the dissipation of warm air from the engine compartment. Speaking of the engine compartment: the 3.0-liter biturbo in-line six-cylinder engine of the M3 was given a carbon cover with a large Alpha-N logo.
On the other hand, the comparatively “invisible” Alpha-N-Carbon Brake Ducts are conducive to cooling the BMW M brake systems. All the more visible are the new Alpha-N-Carbon mudguards with air outlets with integrated carbon gills and air outlets.

Instead of fitting a larger spoiler lip or even a wing on the OEM trunk lid of the notchback saloon, Alpha-N takes a different approach: a completely new carbon tailgate with an integrated, steeply raked ducktail spoiler is used, which is reminiscent of the legendary E46 M3 CSL or its current ancestor, the G82 M4 CSL. A wonderful reminiscence!

The flared wheel arches of the high-performance saloon are fitted with ultra-light LT3 rims from Edelweiss, which contrast beautifully with the dark British Racing Green of the M3 in the custom paint finish “Champagne”. The filigree Y-spoke one-piece wheels measure 10.5x20 inches with Michelin tires in 285/30R20 on the steering axle and even 11.0x21 inches with 305/25 tires on the drive axle.

As a long-standing partner of the suspension specialists from Öhlins, Alpha-N Performance also uses a coilover suspension from this company on the M3 project vehicle: The “Road & Track” combines - nomen est omen - convincing ride comfort on the road with impressive racetrack performance.
