Megafín, the largest distribution center of frozen, refrigerated and dry foods in Colombia, worked with Mecalux to design a state of the art warehouse at the vanguard of the food storage field. As pioneers of food storage logistics, Megafin counted on Mecalux to implement a self supporting, seismic resistant system with a capacity to store up to eight thousand tons of food.

Striving to provide optimum services, Mecalux designed the best logistic process for food, with fully equipped docks affording Megafín a fast storage process and minimizing the break in the cold chain. Twelve independent containers provide the storage of different products at different temperatures, avoiding cross contamination. Furthermore, by using blast freeze technology, the freezing process of food products is expedited to ensure that they are completely frozen within 12 hours.
