This well-known contemporary composition by Tony Britten came about as a commission for an anthem based on “Zadok the Priest” by G.F. Handel. Britten was requested to write a similarly uplifting work, based on Handel’s Anthem, written for the coronation of King George II in 1727, as a “theme” for the UEFA Champions League.

*Please note: in my recording I improvise chords and occasionally drop the left hand 1 or 2 octaves below this published score. Also, ignore the natural in bar 34, it should read A major (not minor).
