Background: The 1986 Montreux Golden Rose Rock Festival took place in Switzerland and was broadcast in various countries. Unlike the Montreux jazz festival, which featured full sets and live performances, the Golden Rose was closer to Top of the Pops and European events such as San Remo, Peter's Pop Show etc., featuring mimed performances by the pop stars of the day.
This was the version broadcast on American TV.
