A few years ago, I stepped out of my comfort zone and started learning animation.
It was exciting, but my laptop made everything hard, and I eventually paused.
During COVID-19, I created a short animation for a COVID awareness campaign called #Tonsembelela. It wasn’t perfect, but it mattered. After that, life moved on, and so did I.
Last year, a close friend encouraged me to try again. He reminded me that things had changed. Tools had changed. And how we communicate had changed.
During a five-day internet shutdown, I wrote a simple script and decided to start again. This video is my first 30-second animation after a long break.
It’s still a work in progress. The lip sync isn’t perfect yet, and I’m improving that next. I’m sharing this to learn, to grow, and to explore better ways to communicate clearly and simply.
I’d love your honest feedback.
What works? What doesn’t?
At the heart of this is one question:
How do we communicate clearly, simply, and at scale in a world that keeps changing?
