The Lancet Commission on a Citizen-Centred Health System for India, released on 21st January 2026, represents the culmination of five years of rigorous research, multidisciplinary analysis, and engagement with lived experiences across India’s health system.
Established in December 2020, the Commission set out to examine what it would take to build a health system that delivers high-quality, comprehensive care for all —irrespective of income or geography. The report brings together one of the most comprehensive bodies of evidence assembled on India’s health system and offers a set of reform directions grounded in both data and practice.
Building on this landmark body of work, Goa Institute of Management invites policymakers, practitioners, researchers, and system leaders to participate in a Policy Dialogue on 6 February 2026, focused on deliberating pathways toward Universal Health Coverage in India.
This in-person dialogue is designed as a curated, high-engagement forum to reflect collectively on how evidence can be translated into policy action- taking into account institutional realities, state-level diversity, and implementation challenges.
