Too many voices struggle to be heard on the South side of Chicago. But in the depth of Gotham City, a young hip-hop group The Rapper Chicks makes it their mission to stand up and speak up, or spit bars.
“Hip-hop can be oppressive, quiet as it's kept… ‘if you don't look a certain way, if you don't sound a certain way then you're not hip hop…’ that's bullshit”, says MC Psalm One of the group.
The Rapper Chicks constantly break out of the boxes and fight the gatekeepers of hip-hop which has long been a male-dominated genre.
