Changing Lives, One Student at Time
A Queensland-first low population higher education pilot for local students run out of the award-winning community facility known as ‘The Hub’ in St George in remote south-west Queensland. A second satellite hub is also offered in Dirranbandi (population just 600 people). The project was developed by Balonne Shire Council in partnership with the Country Universities Centre (CUC). The model has extended to include support for vocational education.
The study hubs have been designed for regional people by regional people.
CUC Balonne is supported by the Australian Government Department of Education through the Regional University Centres Program.
