This animation reviews various airfield operating surfaces at airports with an Air Traffic Control tower including the Non-Movement Area, the Movement Area and the Protected Area. It takes a closer look at each of these areas used by aircraft, vehicles and pedestrians and provides details about these surfaces, their boundary markings, and when users require Air Traffic authorization to operate on them. This animation is a useful reference for all airfield operators to provide an overview of airfield surfaces to help reduce surface events.
