Rand Paul delivered an emotional statement during Tuesday’s Senate hearing on safely returning to work and school amid the COVID-19 pandemic, stating data has shown that “young children rarely spread the virus,” and that some countries who have reopened schools amid the pandemic have not had surges in virus cases.
Dr. Anthony Fauci, the top infectious disease expert in the U.S. said that he “strongly” agrees with Paul that the country needs to “do whatever we can to get the children back to school.”
