This is one of the easiest things you can do to conserve energy when camping off grid. I wanted to know exactly how much energy it would save me, so I hooked both lights up to a volt meter and measured how many amps each consumed. I like to camp in primitive sites where there are no RV hookups. This allows me to fish lakes that are away from all the busy locations. This means I rely solely on my battery for power, for up to a week. Every little thing you can do will help the battery last as long as possible.
