This song is about having childhood trauma, specifically growing up in an abusive household, then once you’re an adult you come to terms with what happened to you and break contact from your family. This is a very specific scenario because it’s inspired by a story from a relative of mine, their stories inspire me a lot in the sense that they worked so hard to get to where they are now and it shows that you can break away from the evil your parents raised you to have. I hope this inspires you to stay strong, sometimes cutting off contact is better than sugarcoating things and pretending that everything’s fine, this story could apply to so many different scenarios and relationships in the end. No need to live like you’re “perfect”, no need to be sugarcoated all the time. ♥︎
