Russell Brand FAILS Ukraine Economics. (What He Gets Wrong.)

2.Math — Ukraine has about ~$92 Billion in debt: $21.7 billion in multilateral debt, including $13.4 billion held by the IMF; $6.5 billion in bilateral debt with sovereign lenders; $28 billion in debt held by bondholders and commercial creditors and $38 billion owed to domestic lenders.
• Domestic lenders ($38B) will take a haircut, but if they hold will likely survive.
• International countries hold around 6.5 Billion with interest payments of 1-2 million. That's nothing.
• The IMF holds more than a half of multilateral Ukraine debt at $13.4 billion — with $2 billion in debt payments owed this year. But the USA just issued another $1 billion sovereign loan guarantee. This means Ukraine can take a credit line of additional $1 billion, pay the IMF and the US will insure in case of default. This is the 3rd in a number of years and these along with other tools by US and EU will cover debt payments to IMF.
Also, the IMF has deeply analyzed Ukraine's economy and is renegotiating its position.
