In 1 Samuel 15, Saul is given a clear command from God: completely destroy the Amalekites and everything they have. But Saul compromises—he keeps what looks good, tries to justify it with religious excuses, and ultimately loses his kingdom.
You can’t keep what God told you to kill. Partial obedience is still disobedience. God isn’t impressed by sacrifices if they are offered in place of true surrender.
