Chinese Sticky Rice Dumpling recipe: Hakka Dough Dumpling 客家粄粽

Описание: Have you seen a beautiful sticky rice dumpling in WHITE? Usually, the traditional Chinese sticky rice dumpling recipe uses dark soy sauce with glutinous rice..but this time, my mom and I decided to make something special- that is the Hakka Dough Dumpling ❤️

Hakka Dough Dumpling uses glutinous rice flour instead of glutinous rice. The fillings use minced meat & chopped vegetables instead of beans, chestnuts or salted egg yolk. Actually this is the first time we're making this dumpling too. Thanks to the recipe from https://wendyinkk.blogspot.com/2010/0... 😊

We made 2 types of Hakka dough dumplings- one with preserved radish 菜脯, the other with preserved vegetables 梅菜. You can add both together actually but we wanted more to taste haha. The dough is soft like a pillow. The end product is SO beautiful to see 😊

Sticky rice dumplings are called many names. 'Zongzi', 'bakzang', 'bacang' are the few common ones. These pyramid-like dumplings are traditionally devoured during the Chinese Dragon Boat Festival, to commemorate a loyal scholar named Qu Yuan.

Hope you enjoy this video! This is my first time attempting a different video style (kinda vlog style), and it is no easy feat considering I need to record videos while helping mom with the cooking. So most scenes are relatively static because I have no extra hand.
