A ride aboard Sounder 1505 - a Southline service from Seattle King Street to Tacoma Dome station. Train 1505 departs from Seattle King Street at 3:12pm, calling at all stations to Tacoma Dome (Tukwila, Kent, Auburn, Sumner, Puyallup and Tacoma Dome). Unfortunately the stop at Sumner is not included in this video due to an issue with the camera battery-pack.
The corridor is owned by the BNSF railway. Several of their freight trains can be seen passing our service and sitting in sidings either awaiting paths or switching. An Amtrak Cascades service from Eugene to Seattle also passes by at Auburn.
Sounder is the Puget Sound region's commuter rail, operating to Seattle in the mornings from Tacoma/Lakewood (SouthLine) and Everett (NorthLine) and returning in the evenings. Two trains also run Northbound from Tacoma in the PM peak - this is one of them. At the end of the video the train heads back to Seattle as Sounder 1512. Also take note of the old wooden trestle at Tacoma Dome - since replaced with a modern steel structure:
