For all the people out there in the world; the first time I heard Sequoyah was about 20 years ago.
I immediately fell in love with this beautiful song and the authentiek voice of Carol Elliott.
It's from the CD "The People I meet" and I'm so glad that I got in touch with Carol.
I asked her if I could sing her song in my theatre play "Dollywood" I'm working at.
This play is inspired by my audition for Dollywood in 2005. Dollywood is Dolly Parton's theme park in the Smokey Mountains.
Together with Nadja Spooren and Piet Snijders I wrote new lyrics for Sequoyah in my own language. So, even if you don't understand Dutch, I hope you still enjoy the song.
Please check out the music of Carol Elliott. She is the one who inspired me to sing and play Sequoyah in this way.
