Interpersonal Conflict
is the conflict between two persons. This type of conflict is natural between human interactions and it can be prevented, managed and avoided.
What causes conflict?
-Frustrations and Stress
-Misunderstanding
-Lack of Planning’s
-Poor communications
-power Struggles
-Property disputes
-Loyalties
-Jealousy
-disrespect
Types of Conflict
-Pseudo Conflict: this is the conflict on misunderstanding, misstatement or minor disagreement.
-Policy (Action)-Related conflict. This is the disagreement in actions ie what had to be done but it wasn’t done. This is the area which focuses on policy making or policies.
-Value Related: This conflict is the conflict that focuses in the actions of importance
-Ego-related conflict: This is the conflict that focuses on personality with the intention of winning.
-Fact (belief) conflict: This conflict is focused on different issues and it is not focus on religion.
-Meta Conflict: This Conflict is focus on the approach of the conflict and not on the conflict. It is the layer on top of the conflict.
How to solve it
-Acknowledge the Conflict exist
-Open up lines of communication –Talk it out
-Active listening
-focus on the problem not the person
-Stick to facts
-Pick your battles
-Make a decision and act on it
-Display empathy
-Deal with it
-Think it through
-Use a mediator
-Apologize when appropriate
-Choose your battles
-Work on Communications skills
-Avoid trouble makers as soon as possible
