India Deploys 3 Warships to Arabian Sea after Drone Attacks Near Gujarat Coast I Barkha Dutt LIVE

Описание: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Tuesday attended the commissioning ceremony of INS Imphal. While speaking at the event, he vowed to find those who attacked the India bound merchant vessel MV Chem Pluto in the Arabian Sea.

MV Chem Pluto, a cargo vessel carrying crude oil from Saudi Arabia, was targeted in a drone attack allegedly by Houthi militants by a drone off India's west coast when it was on its way to New Mangalore port. 20 Indian and Vietnamese crew were onboard the merchant ship. No one was injured in the attack.

The chemical tanker, under Liberian flag, owned by Japan, and operated by the Netherlands, was struck by the drone on December 23, about 200 nautical miles off the Indian coast.

Indian Navy has released pictures of the drone attack after the vessel safely reached Mumbai on December 25. The Indian Navy has now deployed multiple Guided Missile Destroyers in various areas of the Arabian Sea. Indian Navy deployed INS Mormugao, INS Kochi, and INS Kolkata to maintain deterrence.

Houthi forces in Yemen have been targeting commercial ships in the Red Sea, claiming the attacks as revenge against Israel.
