Mosolov - Two Dances, Op. 23b, No. 2 (Rusudan Khuntsaria, piano)

Описание: In another cycle of miniatures, Three Small Pieces (opus 23a), and in Two Dances (opus 23b) written one year later, we can see the break in Mosolov's style after 1926. His piano discards the langorous shadows and produces new sounds - antiromantic, with very little pedal, intentionally hard and dry, marked by the pre-revolutionary works of Prokofiev and Stravinsky. All of these pieces use sudden and unpredictable changes of mood. Movement yields to rhythmically rigorous ostinatos, and primitive motives in a toccata style give way to chords as stiff as the sphinx.
