Patience you must have, Master Yoda would say - but finally the French Fencing Federation (FFE) has recognized lightsaber duels as an official competitive sport. Instead of sabers, foils or swords, fencers can now use the legendary weapon from George Lucas' "Star Wars" saga. The lightsabers are LED-illuminated, rigid replicas made of polycarbonate. The fighters collect points depending on their hits. As in Olympic fencing, the fight is interrupted after each hit - here to pose with dramatic lightsaber swirls for the audience.
