Professor Trevor Lamb gives this talk entitled 'Visual neuroscience: From light detection to macular degeneration' at The Australian National University on 30 August 2010. This talk was recorded at the John Curtin School of Medical Research.
Professor Lamb is Research Director, ARC Centre of Excellence in Vision Science in the Department of Neuroscience at ANU.
In 1993 Trevor was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society, and in the following year he was promoted to a chair at Cambridge. In 2003 he returned to Australia as a Federation Fellow at The John Curtin School of Medical Research, ANU and in 2005 was elected Fellow of the Australian Academy of Science. He has also been awarded the ARVO Proctor Medal 2006 (for outstanding research in the basic or clinical sciences as applied to ophthalmology; joint with E.N. Pugh).
Currently he is Distinguished Professor at the ANU and he is Research Director of the ARC Centre of Excellence in Vision Science which links vision research at four universities (the ANU, the University of Queensland, the University of Sydney, and the University of Western Australia).
