TLS 450 Plus Alarm Management

Veeder-Root Alarm Management Team is remotely monitoring all the Veeder-Root TLS 450 Plus Automatic Tank Gauges at Exchange gas dispensing facilities in the US. The Exchange pays for Veeder-Root 24/7 monitoring services, Alarm Management and Compliance Tracking.

Veeder-Root monitors over 2,200 devices (Electronic sensors, lines, and tanks) at Exchange gas dispensing facilities.

When an Alarm activates-
A. Veeder-Root Alarm Management Team responds to the alarm.
a. If the Alarm Management Team can fix the issue remotely
i. Issue is resolved and the alarm is “closed” in the Alarm Log in Insite360.
1. “FMS Closed” status means an Alarm has been responded to and fixed
b. If the alarm cannot be resolved remotely
i. Alarm Management Team calls the site and reports the alarm to the manager on duty.
ii. The Alarm management Team also sends a “Service Request” (SR) email to the manager.
1. The SR contains information that will help the petroleum technician to fix the cause of the alarm.
2. V/R does NOT dispatch Technicians
iii. Follow the procedures established by your Installation to repair real property
1. *APF is authorized for all real property maintenance & repairs.
a. Real Property is everything in the fuel system except dispensers.
b. If alarm is for a dispenser manager calls the petroleum technician.
c. At R&I installations dispensers are also APF.
2. Only V/R authorized petroleum contractors may work on the TLS 450 PLUS.
3. Technicians must contact Veeder-Root FMS @ 800-997-7725 or tech support @ 800-323-1799 to access the TLS 450 Plus console
c. For unexplained alarms [email protected] or call 800-997-7722.

When an Environmental Compliance Alarm Activates-
A. Veeder-Root Alarm Management Team acknowledges alarm.
B. Alarm Management Team notifies the Veeder-Root Compliance Manager
a. Veeder-Root Compliance Manager reports the alarm to the manager on duty
b. Veeder-Root Compliance Manager calls and emails the military POC for the tanks
C. Express manager, Military POC, Exchange Environmental Engineer, and the Veeder-Root Compliance Manager work together to resolve the issue.
a. Express Managers must work with Military POC to resolve compliance issues.
b. Follow the procedures established by your Installation to repair petroleum equipment
i. APF is authorized for environmental compliance
ii. APF is authorized for real property maintenance & repairs.
1. Real Property is everything in the fuel system except dispensers.
c. Use an authorized petroleum contractor to work on TLS 450 PLUS equipment.
D. If the issue is not resolved within 7 days or at any point where the site is at risk of being or currently is out of compliance, the Veeder-Root Compliance Manager will escalate the issue to the site GM and VPs.
a. Urgent issues may require notifying the GM as soon as possible.
b. GM may request an alternate notification timeline.
c. Copy Area VP and VP for the Region on email.
