This handmade sculpture captures a deeply human moment – the gesture of offering help. One figure reaches down to another – no questions, no judgment. Just compassion.
This piece is about dignity and kindness. Two people meet in life – one is climbing, the other is still down. But the one above doesn't ask why – they simply offer a hand. That is empathy. That is what makes us human.
The composition was made entirely from reclaimed materials, in the spirit of upcycling.
• The woods – walnut, peach, ash, elder – were all rescued from firewood piles.
• The metal elements came from a scrapyard, reshaped and given a new purpose.
At the heart of the sculpture is this thought:
“In every person, look for the child who once gazed at the Christmas tree with shining eyes.”
We don’t always know what someone’s been through. That’s why empathy matters –
especially today. This piece is not just an object – it’s a message. Let us care for one another – it is the greatest gift we can give.
