Описание: Former minister and prominent Kapu community leader Mudragada Padmanabham passed away at the age of 73 after receiving treatment at a hospital in Madhapur, Hyderabad. Born on January 22, 1953, in Kirlampudi in the erstwhile East Godavari district, he entered active politics in 1977 following his father's death, and was elected as MLA from Prattipadu on a Janata Party ticket in 1978. He later joined the Telugu Desam Party in 1982 and went on to win MLA elections in 1983, 1985, and 1989, also serving as a minister in NTR's cabinet. After resigning from his ministerial post and the party, he founded new political outfits — Praja Rakshana Samithi and Telugu Nadu Party — and won as MP from Kakinada in 1999. He was widely recognized for his agitation demanding reservations for the Kapu community, organizing a major rally in Tuni in 2016, and most recently joined the YCP ahead of the 2024 elections.
