Can We Survive On Terra With No Starting Biome in ONI?

Описание: I have been very curious about whether it's possible to set up a colony in Oxygen Not Included with the starting biome missing! Usually I rely on the available Muckroot / Hexalent a lot to jumpstart our initial growth, and obviously Hatches are a super useful medium-term food/fuel source. In this series I'll have a look at a few different map types and try and evaluate where it might be possible to piece together a colony without all of your usual abundant resources.

On Terra, we've printed three Bionic Dupes with Digging Boosters so we can find an Oxygen source. Luckily we find a Polluted Water Vent, which solves most of our problems, but I think it should technically be possible to survive without one. However, we make a few mistakes in priorities and the dupes are slowly getting cooked by an un-insulated Cool Steam Vent. Interestingly enough, Dirt is the main constraint on Terra, as you need large quantities for research, but almost all of the Dirt mass on this planet is in the starting biome. You can get enough to do a fair few researches from space, but we were really scraping the barrel before that... I think this challenge is definitely possible on Terra, but there is a lot of randomness involved with Geysers and access to Polluted Water for offgassing.
