Erik and I went to go birding on of the trails along saddle road in the big island. We've been "somewhat" addictive in trying to document as much Hawaiian native forest birds we can since we know their time left on the islands are not too long from now.
Hawaii is the endangered species capital of the world. One of the species that have been decimating our our Hawaiian native birds, which most are our honeycreepers. Unfortunately climate change and the spread of avian malaria from the southern house mosquitos are big factors in the decline of our birds.
