Arkansas State Police confirm three people were killed, eight other civilians were injured. Two police officers were also struck by gunfire in a shooting at a Mad Butcher grocery store in Fordyce, Arkansas. The suspect was also shot and has been taken into custody.
"I am thankful to law enforcement and first responders for their quick and heroic action to save lives," Arkansas Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders said in a statement.
Fordyce, AR is a city in southeast Dallas County. It's about 70 miles south of the state capitol in Little Rock and has a population just over 3,000.
