A Time in Film: 1924

Описание: This is where the 20s really kick off and only get better from here on out. To me 1924 is all about the incredible two-parter called "Die Nibelungen", which were the first truly great two-part films, with Siegfried being a beautifully shot german epic followed by the gut-wrenching, and in my opinion superior Kriemhild's Revenge.

Other essentials are Murnau's expressive "The Last Laugh", Keaton's charming "Sherlock Jr." and perhaps the greatest silent documentary "The Great White Silence".

Also worth watching: Aelita, Ballet Mécanique, Greed (botched but essential), He Who Gets Slapped (Sjöström's first American film), Kino-Eye, The Epic of Everest, The Hands of Orlac and The Thief of Bagdad.
