This week I made a simple but important upgrade to the shelter — covering the tar paper with a tarp to better handle winter weather.
While working, we cooked ramen over the fire and spent some quiet time outdoors. These days in the woods aren’t about rushing progress, but about steady work, reflection, and learning what holds up over time.
This shelter is still a work in progress. Each small improvement makes it a little more livable, and each day out here reminds me why I started building it in the first place.
