Rumors have it that Smackdown General Manager Diamond Dallas Page will issue a contract signing between WEDF Champion and the new #1 contender, Joshua Bishop tonight! Joshua Bishop became the #1 contender in a controversial triple threat match when Bishop pinned Samoa Joe thanks to interference from the returning Monster Abyss. Abyss took out the Monster Among Men Braun Strowman just as Strowman was looking to finish off the match as the Monster was dominating BOTH Joe and Bishop! Instead, Bishop picked up the scraps and pinned Joe for only the second time in two seasons giving him the opportunity at Dolph Ziggler! What will happen between the two Platinum Age stable mates heading up to their showdown at Battleground? How will Joe and Strowman respond to Abyss's and Rosemary's actions? Will Abyss have something to say regarding his return?

Rumors have it that DDP will also address the vacant World Tag Team Championship situation after the WEDF Tag Team Champions The New Day departed to RAW from Smackdown in exchange for the Usos. The Usos have seemingly also aligned themselves with Triple H's ever growing Evolution consisting of Randy Orton and Roman Reigns! Speaking of Evolution, Edge must continue the Evolution gauntlet if the Rated R Superstar wants to get his hands on Randy Orton at Battleground. Despite picking up a big victory over the Head of the Table Roman Reigns last time on SD, tonight, Edge faces a familiar foe in the Animal Batista, who returned last time on Smackdown! Can The Ultimate Opportunist tame the Animal, or will Batista take Edge out of the equation?

The tag team division on Smackdown is showcasing a lot of new and hungry up and comers such as The Viking Raiders and The Street Profits as well as established teams such as The Bar, the newly acquired Usos, the united gatekeepers known as Redemption, the high flying Lucha Dragons, the soon to be debuting Legado Del Fantasma, the debuting Judgment Day of Damian Priest and Dominik Mysterio as well as a rumored signing of a new tag team from the UK! What's to come of the ever growing Smackdown tag division?!

On Episode 383, there were also some notable returns and debuts, standing out with the match Rey Mysterio had in a losing effort to the returning Shelton Benjamin as Benjamin was managed by the also returning MVP as MVP has decided to step back into a managerial role. Thanks to Shelton's victory over Rey Mysterio, Shelton will challenge Apollo Crews for the Intercontinental Championship! Meanwhile, Rey's night couldn't get any more worse as not only was Rey Mysterio was distracted by the debuting Judgment Day of Damian Priest, Rhea Ripley, and Rey's son Dominik Mysterio, The Judgment Day added insult to injury by attacking Rey Mysterio three on one with Rey's own son Dominik getting in on the action! How will Rey respond to the Judgement Day's debut as well as his son's backstabbing betrayal?

R-Truth has been getting to be a thorn in Finn Balor's side ever since Balor cost R-Truth an opportunity at cashing in Money in the Bank on Dolph Ziggler before WEDF Unforgiven. As a result, R-Truth attacked the leader of the Balor Club backstage. Following a downward spiral of Truth which included a disappointing loss to Hangman Adam Page on Episode 381 - Smackdown, will Truth be in the building to take out his anger on Balor? How will Balor respond to the heinous attack from R-Truth?

Finally, WEDF NXT Women's Champion the undefeated Ember Moon has seemingly put herself to the front of the line for challenging WEDF Women's World Champion Lita at Battleground! However, Ember Moon must turn back the challenge of a very game Natalya as Natayla attacked Ember Moon following Moon's NXT Women's title defense over Kairi Sane. Natayla gave Moon a vicious beatdown, which may lead to Ember Moon not being 100% heading into their match tonight on Smackdown in Baltimore, Maryland! Will Ember Moon be able to turn back Natayla?
