Mixed feelings in Tehran ahead of more nuclear talks with world powers

Описание: (20 Nov 2013) Nuclear talks resume on Wednesday between Iran and world powers after the last round stalled over issues that included Iran's planned heavy water reactor and the levels of uranium enrichment.
Iran later agreed to provide UN nuclear inspectors with greater information and access, but it's uncertain whether the concessions will be enough to push envoys in Geneva closer to a deal.
Iran seeks a rollback in US-led economic sanctions, while the West is pressing it to curb its uranium enrichment - the process to make nuclear fuel.
"The sanctions I think are seriously harming our country, and if we can stop the sanctions, of course while preserving the rights of Iranians, and we can achieve our rights, that would be great," said Tehran resident Niakan.
In the past decade, Iran's nuclear programme has advanced on many fronts and more facilities are planned.
It is widely believed among Iranians that France is hindering the talks to support interests of Israel and Saudi Arabia.
Local media have even questioned American intentions, with some claiming that the US actually doesn't want a deal and is playing "good cop-bad cop" along with France to avoid an agreement and force Iran to make more concessions.
"Whether there was a pre-planned agreement between the French and the Americans as a sort of playing 'good cop and bad cop' or not, that's unknown at this stage. But regardless, whatever the reason was for the French action, if the Americans want an agreement they can get one," said Mohammad Marandi, a political commentator based in Tehran.
