The Southern California Office of Mothers Against Drunk Driving is hosting its annual noncompetitive 5K fundraiser on Saturday, September 16th in Long Beach, dedicated to the memory of Christopher Jesus Castillo, son of LAPD Deputy Chief Emada Tingirides. Christopher was in the process of joining the policing community following the footsteps of his parents with aspirations of joining the Orange County Sheriff’s Department. On March 09, 2023, Christopher was posthumously awarded his Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Tabor College which would have kickstart his dedication to public service.
MADD’s 5K Walk is the only large-scale community-based activity that allows those impacted by drunk driving to actively take steps to raise local awareness and stop impaired driving in their communities. It is a platform for community members and partners like you, come together each year to remember the lives lost and turn their pain into direct action.
