Think of the PTAC unit as a dehumidifier that is capturing moisture from the room air. If this moisture is not drained adequately, it will leak onto the floor or onto the unit below. All leaks from PTAC units are leaks of this condensed room moisture.
Proper maintenance and cleaning of the PTAC unit will prevent water leaks.
