These days, rare plants are popping into the market left and right whether we like it or not. The aroid market in particular has been voracious in its appetite to create new breeds to keep the market going. This drives the new product prices to all-time highs.
I get a lot of comments on my videos and have witnessed lots of conversations about collectors complaining about the prices of some of these new products. However… I implore everyone to calm down and study the structure of the market together, as it is becoming more important than ever. I present a Plant Price Pyramid to show you that some of these prices, at this point in time, does not really relate to us as buyers and collectors.
The goal of this episode is so we can have a meaningful conversation moving forward about our roles in the plant market, and how to buy responsibly to add to our collection.
