What is the meaning of Islam?
The Arabic word Islam الاسلام is derived from these words:
Silm سلم Peace: al-Baqara [2] 208.
Taslim تسليم Unconditional surrendering to Allāh's principles al-Baqara [2] 112, 131.
Salama سلامة Eternal salvation: Al Imran [3] 104.
Using these three terms, one could state the following:
Islam is a way of life which requests unconditional surrendering to Allah's principles (taslim) to get peace on earth (silm) and eternal salvation (salama) in the hereafter.
