White Pass and Yukon Route trains

Описание: This is real-time video of White Pass and Yukon Route trains leaving Skagway, Alaska on the morning of July 20, 2017. The first train to depart is lead by MLW DL-535E number 101 out of the main depot downtown. The second train to depart is coming from the Railroad Dock and lead by MLW DL-525E locomotives 110 and 106 leading the Summit Excursion for the Holland America ship Noordam. The third train also originating from the Railroad Dock is the Summit Excursion train for the Emerald Princess lead by locomoties 92 and 93 which are of the GE GEX3341 type but have been converted to CLEAR 140 with a Cummins QSK45L prime movers. The fourth train is lead by MLW DL-535E locomotives 107 and 108 from the Disney Discovery cruise ship which is berthed at the Ore Dock. The radiator cover of locomotive 108 opens up as it passes by.

Baldwin 2-8-2 locomotive number 73 backs into the depot in town for the noon-time Frasier Meadows Steam Excursion.

The final segment of video shows the turn-around process of the three Summit Excursion trains at White Pass Summit (MP 20.4). The first and second trains already have moved their locomotives to the south end for the return trip and the third train is pulling into the siding while the second train backs north to clear the siding and the first train (from which the video is shot) begins the return trip to Skagway.
