It can be used to troubleshoot a superheterodyne radio or to troubleshoot an audio amplifier.
A transistor is a miniature amplifier.
When a signal pulse at its input is injected, the output is amplified as sound.
If that or that is a malfunction, there is no sound or it may be a malfunction.
The troubleshooting tracking method is to inject a pulse signal from the first input amplifier to the final output stage.
